Don't be mean by Lily U

Kia Ora readers and welcome back to my blog ! Today I'll be doing a blogpost about Mean, Median and mode. It's pretty difficult to explain because it's three different topics that has to do with maths. I will be explaining about what is a Mean, Mode & Median, but first I'll be explaining about what mean is.

Mean is about finding the average score. You do this by adding up the numbers and then dividing by the amount of numbers that you have added. it (2 + 11 + 3 + 4 + 5 = 25  ÷ 5 = 5).

Median is all about the middle number for example 3 2 1 and 2 is the median because it's the number in the middle. A hint is to always ensure that you arrange the scores either in ascending of descending order. If you don't do this then you just might record the 'wrong number' as the median. Another point to note is that if you have an even data set, for example 1 2 3 4, then you'll add 2 + 3 = 5 ÷ 2 = 2.5 and that's how you figure out the median when it's an even or odd set of scores.

Mode is when you're looking for the number/s that are repeated more than once. For example 6 7 7 8 5, the mode is 7 because it has been repeated more than once, like twice. A data set can have more than one mode. However, if no number repeats itself, then there is NO MODE. I hope to create a DLO or screencastify my thoughts on a follow-up blog post, so keep your eyes "peeled"

Anyways Hope you've learnt more about Mean, Median & Mode!
