🇼🇸🌺Samoan Language Week🌺🇼🇸 at TPS

Talofa Lava and greetings to you all! As it says in the title, it is Samoan Language Week! YAY! When we celebrate any culture at our school it usually includes each class preparing an item for a special assembly that is held after a week of embracing the cultural differences and identities. 

In this case, Samaon Language Week. For Samoan Language Week, Room 9/10 have prepared two items. The first item which is a Siva Samoa will be done by the room 9/10 girls while the room 9/10 boys will be showing the Samoan haka. 

The song that we will be dancing to is called "Loimata o le fia fia"  we've been practicing this Siva Samao since last week Wednesday, I think that the girls have prepared well and everything is going great. I would say the same as for the boys. Here is the version of the haka that they have been practising. Enjoy the rest of the week, Samoan Language Week!!

Politically Correct by Carra

Our first Inquiry Model is coming to an end. Thus far we have been learning about early European Voyages, Polynesian Discoveries, Wars and the impact it has had on landscapes across the world.

Today I have made a slide about a famous peace activist who promoted to world peace. The person who I selected is a lady called Aung San Suu Kyi. She famously said, "to make the world a better place were it is not power that corrupts but fear. Fear of losing power corrupts those who wield it and fear of the scourge of power corrupts those who are subject to it, The only real prison is fear."

She also explains further that the only real freedom is freedom from fear and Human beings the world over need freedom and security that they may be able to realize their full potential.

Aung San Suu Kyi is a truly inspirational leader and was award the Nobel Peace Prize in 1991 for her non-violent struggle for democracy and human rights.

I am really looking forward to complete the rest most my inquiry and value any feedback or feedforward that you may have.

Kia Manawanui Current Events Exemplar

Here is our class exemplar showing how to use critical thinking to analyse a current event. We completed this presentation as a syndicate using two articles which are linked on the first slide. This year we are developing our critical thinking skills using Bloom's Taxonomy and this activity will be done as part of our reading tumble. We would love some feedback so please comment below.
