By Albert Einstein.

Growth Mindset Quote by Auckland

Michelle Obama: A Life,' by Peter Slevin - The New York Times“One of the lessons that I grew up with was to always stay true to yourself and never let what somebody else says distract you from your goals. And so when I hear about negative and false attacks, I really don’t invest any energy in them, because I know who I am.”

By Michelle Obama

I really like that quote because I as a person always tends to
get distracted. When I first heard this quote I really didn't know what it meant. But when I broke it up into pieces and reconstructed I knew what it meant.

The Story of Plastics by Josephine

Our inquiry this term is about pest eradication. However, we started a little bit closer to home. We did a research into plastics and why they are bad for us. I decided to focus on nature and the plight of seabird.

Here is slide show on why plastic is bad for our seabirds and other fun things that you should know about the seabirds and there is also a youtube video included in slide show. Hope you enjoy it. Feel free to leave a comment and any feedforward is appreciated.

Holy Guacamole

Study shows eating avocados improves concentration

If these studies are true I will be eating avocados everyday to help me focus. A recent study has found that eating avocados improves concentration.

Avocados are high in lutein, which has proven to have positive effects on the brain. Researches from the University of Illinois completed a 12-week randomised control trial. They discovered that adults who are overweight or obese had an increase in cognitive benefits after consuming the fruit.

Avocado recipes | BBC Good FoodFor the study, 80 adults were split into two groups and given the same meals. However, one set of participants included an avocado daily.
At the end of the study, those who had avocados had improved performances on a cognitive test which required them to focus on the task while being distracted.

Konichiwa readers and welcome back to my blog ! Today I'll be doing a Quote for Today! So the quote for today is........
Judge nothing, you will be happy.
Forgive everything, you will be happier.
Love everything, you will be the happiest.
~ Sri Chinmoy ~

I think this means to never judge, always forgive everything and love everything which will make you happier than ever.
This quote is my inspirational quote for the day because it tells me that small words and deeds can be very powerful.  This really inspires me as a student and reminds me to cherish everything.

Getting Back 2 Basics with Auckland

IALH: To use Proportional Adjustment.
Today I'm going teach you how to use this Strategy for a multiplication problem. And if you're wondering this level 3/4 maths.
Portional Adjustment is the same thing as Doubling and halving .
But we use Proportional adjustment for Multiplication.

So the Equation is
5 x 14 =
So we want to double the 5 and half the 14.
Now the equation will look like this.
10 x 7
Now you can solve it
=70

14 x 5 = 70
7 x 10 = 70

WALT:we are learning how to play Rippa

Coachs:Cory and Harry

Today at rippa, we played amazing games like this game called Rabbits and Rats. How you play is there is two teams they are rats and rabbits, when the instructor calls a team they have to run to there check point and the other team has to catch them and take off there tag.

So that how you play that game, after that we played and game called 10 pass and you play it like this, so you have pass it 10 times to your team mates with out the other team intercepting your pass or taking your tag off while you the ball in your hands.

So when I played those games it was fun and enjoyable because I had my friends in my team and the game was exciting.

The last game was to test the skills we learned like passing, running with the ball and stepping.

Overall it was a fun. I would like to say thank you to Mr Janse, Mr Reddy and Miss Ashley for setting it up but most of all thank you to Kiwi-Sport for an awesome session. Well Done!
