The movie is about celebrating differences and working together with our differences to achieve our goals. Everyone has their own unique background and has their own story to tell and these stories shapes who we are and will help us to get to our destination.

Fake Image (PART 2)

For Cybersmart, we are completing our "Real or Fake" scenarios. Just to recap for those who missed the last blog post. We had to create a fake image and explain the backstory and how it is real, so let's get started!

WE SAW A ALIEN!

As we were walking around Tangarakau Town, we stumbled upon a forest. We were confused and curious so we went into the forest to only look around.

As we were walking about, we found a wooden sign saying, "Tangarakau Ghost Town". At first, we were shocked but didn't pay much attention to it and continued into the forest.

As we ventured further into the forest we noticed something. The ground was shaking! We got scared so we climbed the nearby tree and started to record. While recording we were talking about how we were alone in the forest and how someone could be watching us. we started getting scared.

I kept looking around thinking someone was watching us. I pointed the phone touch light ahead just incase we saw something. Things started to get a little bit too scary so we ran out of the forest and into the car where we drove back home.

Later that day we found out that we actually caught something, it looked like an alien! We were so shocked so we posted it in Instagram and told everyone what we had seen.

I had so much fun doing this Cybersmart Narrative!

QOB: Have you ever wondered if there is life out there on other planets or alien here on Earth? "Food for Thought"

KEA KIDS NEWS

Today the producers from Kea Kids News came to Tamaki Primary. If you don't know who they are, they are kids who report the news on TV and change. They do the news from a kids perspective because when kids watch adult news they are bored and perhaps cannot understand the context. That's why Kea kids News decided to make a kids news.

25 Students from the Manaiakalani cluster came to the Kea Kids News tryouts. For example TPS , GBS , PBS and GIS.

Back to the future.......or is it?

WALA: how to move my car and sense an object so it can drive by itself.

Do know a car that can drive by itself?
If you have think about how it does that?

After you have thought about those questions read this.
The Tesla is the only car to drive by itself.
Tesla drive by itself because it is programmed.
Our task is to Programme the Robotic car to drive in a square and sense objects like if someone is crossing the road and the car stops on its own.

We have completed both tasks and here are my codes to do it.
Now here is the videos of how our robotic car moves.

Keeping it real the Cybersmart Way!

Talofa Lava and welcome to my blog! Our recent task for Cybersmart was to complete a Presentation Ms Collins has shared with us. In this presentation we talk about alteration and we also got to alter some photos.

Image result for alter
Here is an example of an altered photo
My favourite part about doing this presentation was being able to use my creativity to create something digitally. I was able to connect to my class mates and create some really cool images. Here is my finished presentation:

In slides 4, 6 and 8, our tasks were to explain if the lemon was real or fake, explain why the lemon was altered in this way and alter the lemon ourselves. In slides 11, 12 & 13, our task was to explain the difference between the two photos and how it was altered. In the last slide, we had to create our own image and explain what it is.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I had so much fun doing this Cybersmart presentation!
QOB: Have you ever altered something? If so, what was it?

Thank you for reading this blog! Make sure to give me some POSITIVE feedback and feedforward! Bye :)

My Altered Image by Lydia

IALT: Alter an image and explain what it is
Malo E Lelei and welcome to my blog! Recently for cybersmarts we got given a presentation to complete (Visit this blog to read more). On the last slide we had to make up our own fake image and explain what it was and why we made it this way.

One thing I found very hard about this task was not knowing what to make. It was hard having to make something up but I think I was just overthinking it. Here is my finished picture:
This photo is of a line of people with different emojis as their faces. The emojis are what they are feeling while they are standing there. The story behind this is, I was trying to advertise how and why I use Emojis in my blogs and on social media. I feel like Emojis explain a lot when you are not using words because the creators create these emojis for this specific reason, to explain.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
I really enjoyed making this image and I think I'll be glad to make more!

Thank you for reading this blog! Make sure to give me some POSITIVE feedback and feedforward! Bye :)

BIG 4 BIG 4 in the Corridors by Room 9

WALT: Use the Big 4
SC: Keep to the left
Hands and feet to yourself
Walk using inside feet
Be quiet

Why do we have to show these behaviours in the corridors/stairs?
We need to be safe!
There are other students learning and we need to be mindful of that
We have to respect others belongings

Here is a DLO of what Behaviour looks like in the corridor.
I have also compared it with the school values.
Here is a poster me and my friend have created based on the BIG 4.

Cybersmart - Is Seeing, Believing?(Part 2) with Ms Collins

IALT: Identify what photos or videos that can be altered/edited/changed.

I created this image because I believe that it relates to Cybersmarts in many different ways. To me this image is about being careful with who you talk to because you never know what they are capable of. If you get a message from a random person I suggest you ignore it because it could possibly be a scam or someone dangerous. Here is the finished image:

Applied Theatre inspires Kia Manawanui

Why do you think we invited Everyday Theatre in today to work with us?
I think this is a lesson to teach kids that when there are troubled stuff happening at home then it's alright to ask for help.

Why do you think the team used a computer game to work with us?
In my perspective I think it's because children these days play on there computer more and it seemed really fun.
Who could you ask for help if you ever felt like Jack and knew someone who needed help support?

What was the hardest part of the game and why?
The hardest part of the game was to freeze because I kept on laughing and it was hard to stay still.

What did you enjoy most about being a Games Master for a morning?
It was really fun and I really enjoyed being able to play.

How did we work as a team to win this game?
We participated and made sure that everyone was following the rules and trying to keep our lives.

What could we take from today to use in other classroom activities in the future?
We could use and tech other kids about situations like this.

What kinds of secrets are okay to break?
You can tell like who you like and stuff like that.

Chicken Curry Bonanza

WALHT: Cook Chicken Curry.

Talofa lava and welcome back to my blog! It's been awhile since i've blogged and now i'm here to share with you all yet another blog about our 6th session cooking with               Mrs Tuipulotu! To start of this blog reflection I would like to list down the process of how to cook Chicken Curry:

Step 1 - Peel and slice 5 potatoes into 4
 - Pour 2 cups of water into pot
 - Place potatoes into the pot
 - Wait til potatoes are soft

Step 2 - Slice and dice onion
 - Dice the chicken
 - Pour the onions and chicken into the pan
 - Fry until it is cooked

Step 3 - Add Spices and 1/2 cup of water into the pan
 - Add vegetables into the pan
 - Mix well

Finish - Serve Chicken Curry in a bowl/s
 - Eat!

This is the process of how to cook, well at least this is the process we used to cook Chicken Curry. Moving on, I think that during the cooking lesson we(me and my partner Grace) managed to help each other with each step although our Chicken Curry wasn't a success I think we did well managing to follow each step. This session was one of those challenging moments but I am willing to face challenges! I hope our next session will be a success until then thank you all for reading, I hope this helped in any way!

Cybersmart - Is Seeing, Believing? by Hevani

IALT:Identify photos or videos that can be altered/edited/changed.

Kia Ora and greetings to you all. With in today's blog I will be sharing what both classes room 9 and 10 have done for Cybersmart during the past week. For last week's Cybersmart lesson we were given a presentation to complete titled, "Is Seeing, Believeing?" In each slide we had to list down what things have been altered and why.

Alter - " To change the way something looks, sometimes using a computer or other digital tools."

What i've learnt while completing this presentation is that not everything that we see it true, most photos have been edited to make it more appealing. In my opinion I think that altering photos are sometimes ok just not all the time. We shouldn’t alter photos for our amusement but use it for a better purpose.

Manaiakalani Filming by Kea Kids Production

πŸŽ₯Manaiakalani FilmingπŸŽ₯
Malo E Lelei and welcome to my blog! Earlier last term, I got given the opportunity to do the introduction and outro for the Manaiakalani Film Festival this year. If you do not know what this is, every year a different student from a different school is selected to introduce the Manaiakalani Festival and end it, this year I was the chosen one!

On Tuesday 24th of September, Ms. Grant and Luke (the camera man), came into school for filming. Ms. Grant is a big part of the Manaiakalani and Luke is apart of  Kea Kids .

At first, I was camera shy and kept on messing up because I was so nervous, but after a while, I got used to it. The experience was nerve-wrecking! It was really fun but also hard at the same time.

One thing I enjoyed the most was being able to step out of my normal, comfort zone and express my confidence through the camera. I would just like to say thank you to Ms. Grant and Mrs. Burt for this lovely opportunity!
---------------------------------------------------------------
QOB: Have you ever experienced being camera shy etc.?

Thank you for reading this blog! Make sure to give me some POSITIVE feedback and feedforward! Bye :)

Revising Decimals

It's that time of the year when we are putting our portfolio's together and revising concepts that we still have not grasped.

So, our Decimal System lets us write numbers as large or as small as we want, using the decimal point. Digits can be placed to the left or right of a decimal point, to show values greater than one or less than one.

The decimal point is the most important part of a Decimal Number. Without it we are lost, and don't know what each position means.

Here is a presentation that I found online to help me consolidate my learning.

Auckland says, "Happy Maori Language Week"

Kia Kaha te reo Māori is the theme for this year’s Māori Language Week. ‘Kia Kaha’ is a well known phrase in New Zealand, meaning ‘be strong’.
So when we say ‘Kia Kaha te Reo Māori’ we’re saying  – ‘Let’s make the Māori language strong’.
Maori Language Week is about raising awareness about Te Reo in New Zealand and promoting the language.

WALT: Write Complex Sentences

Today we've been learning to make a complex sentence, these are useful for the future, such as resume for a job you won't. Here is my work !

Technology T3W7 - Graphics - All About Me

IALHT: Create a DLO about ME!

Kia Ora, my name is Lydia! Welcome to my blog. Today we had technology and it is the last rotation of the year. I am in graphics with Miss Ferguson. This term we are going to be making juice cartons but first we got given a task where we need to create a DLO about ourselves. Here is an example of Miss Ferguson's DLO:

A 'ME' DLO is all about you and what you like, what you admire and what you enjoy to do. This year I done another 'ME' DLO,  since it has been a whole year and I have obviously changed. I really enjoy making these DLO's because it gives me an opportunity to express myself on a Google Drawing. Here is my ME DLO:
